My CoolSculpting Experience

"I have always been an extremely active individual; I was a dancer growing up which then moved towards a passion for fitness and strength training. I then started running and have been for about two years now, alongside my strength training. I joined the CSC team last year and that was when I first heard about CoolSculpting. I was sceptical but kept seeing the most amazing before and afters and reviews from our patients. From my knowledge of fitness, training and calorie deficits, I just did not think it would work, but there was always that little voice at the back of my mind saying, ‘but what if it does?’. My problem areas were very specific; my lower abdomen and my love handles. I was training for a marathon, burning more calories than I ever have, weight training and eating right and I still could not shift the stubborn bits of fat that I had on my lower tummy and my love handles.

I decided to at least have a consultation, just to see if it could work for me. My consultation was with and we spoke at length about my areas of concern and looked at lots of before and after photographs of their CoolSculpting patients. Then Ria placed me in front of a mirror and asked me to show her the areas that bothered me the most, which I did. She was extremely professional, I never once felt judged or uncomfortable (as we all know; showing the parts of your body you are not happy with can make you feel very vulnerable). Ria was extremely encouraging, she complimented that I have a great waist and body shape but said she was confident we can get a really amazing result with CoolSculpting. She placed the different stencils onto my body and showed me the different applicators she would use to get the best result. She drew up my own bespoke treatment plan and I went away feeling quite excited.

On the day of my treatment I was nervous but most of all excited. I was apprehensive and worried that it wasn’t going to work, but Ria re-assured me and put me at ease. Ria drew on me with a pen to map out where she would place the applicators, then it was time for the treatment to take place. A cold gel pad was placed on my skin, followed by the applicator which had a sucking sensation, like a vacuum. The applicator was on and the treatment started. Ria then placed another applicator on my other side so we could do two areas at once, a process called ‘Dual Sculpting’. My initial feelings were, that I could feel an intense cold sensation in the areas, inside the applicators, but it soon subsided, which Ria explained to me would happen as the area numbed. I relaxed on the bed with a blanket over me, watching Netflix while Ria brought me a cup of tea. I even fell asleep at one point! 35 minutes later Ria came back in and removed the first applicator and began the two-minute massage, which is the most important part of the treatment as this is a technique that breaks up the frozen fat cells. The process was then repeated with the other areas.

Ria was absolutely incredible throughout my entire treatment, she kept me relaxed and at ease and reassured me that everything I was feeling was normal, whilst also bringing me endless cups of tea and biscuits which is always a plus!

I went home feeling a bit tender and the areas treated were a little pink, but Ria had told me this would happen, so I wasn’t worried at all. I had an early night and got a good night’s sleep. The next few days there wasn’t really much to report, my progress stayed the same with the area a little bigger than normal and feeling numb and cold to touch. I was back training and running six days after my treatment.

I started to see results at about 3-4 weeks after my treatment. Every single day my tummy seemed to be getting flatter, something I have been trying to achieve for years, I couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t until one day I realised I didn’t have much to grab onto on my love handles that I realised just how effective it had been there too! Alongside my training, I was seeing results I never thought possible."
